Blepharoplasty (eyelids) & Brow Lift

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)

As we age, our skin undergoes changes that can lead to excess skin and fatty bags under the eyelids, which are often compounded by sun damage and loss of elasticity. Tear through deformities can also further complicate the appearance of the eyes. However, cosmetic eyelid surgery offers a solution to rejuvenate the eyes and give individuals a refreshed look. Given the importance of the eyelids in protecting the eyes, surgical procedures to address this issue require meticulous attention to detail and precision. Typically, upper eyelid surgery can be performed under local anaesthesia in an operating theatre environment.

In select cases, Mr. Tekeli prefers a minimally invasive lower eyelid blepharoplasty technique, which he learned from his plastic surgery trainer in Istanbul, Turkey. This approach offers a more conservative option that minimises the risk of complications while still delivering excellent results.

Brow Lift

A brow lift is commonly utilised to alter the shape of the brows. Ideally, in females, lateral brow should be higher; just above the bony rim of the eye socket compared to medial brow. With ageing and decreased elasticity of skin, the brows can become vsaggy which would give an overall appearance of a tired upper face. The aim of this cosmetic surgery procedure is to freshen up forehead as well as eyes.

This procedure regularly used in conjunction with eyelid surgery and there should be special consideration given to eyelids when brow lift surgery is used in isolation. In facial plastic surgery, Mr Tekeli believes in that brows and eyelids should be considered together to achieve the optimal outcomes. Endoscopic key hole methods may be utilised to aid surgery in order to avoid damage to critical structures.
